Kirsten Jones - Kirsten was the founding event co-ordinator of Lend to End [poverty], the widely popular annual party held on the second Thursday in May each year at Alice Fazooli’s in Toronto. She continues to support The Townships Project.
Kirsten is a Toronto based alt country singer and songwriter. Her debut album, Drive-In Movie, was released in 2005 and received airplay all over Canada, peaking at #3 on CBC's Galaxie Folk/Roots chart. She has also recently received the coveted FACTOR award, and was a finalist at the Kerrville New Folk Contest. In autumn 2008, the Canadian Country Music Awards invited Kirsten to perform for the second year in a row at the prestigious Songwriter's Cafe, alongside Victoria Banks and Lisa Brokop. Kirsten has toured in the US and Canada, including dates with Jim Cuddy, Oh Susanna, Corb Lund, Hayes Carll, Minnie Driver and numerous others. She has also just released a new CD titled The Mad Mile, which is already receiving recognition.
