Brian joined the Board of Directors of The Townships Project in 2006 after becoming involved in a summer retreat to consider the way forward for the project in Calgary in 2005.  Brian has acted as the Secretary since joining the board, and has also organized several fundraising events in Calgary.

Brian is a project manager with a chemical engineering background who has spent 38 years in the petroleum industry in both onshore and offshore facilities, including 5 years of foreign service.  During more than 20 years with Imperial Oil Limited, Brian worked in various positions of increasing responsibility including assignments in the United Kingdom and the United States.  Since leaving Imperial, Brian has been a project manager with several Engineering firms working on projects in Yemen, the Mackenzie Valley Development and on Mineable Oil Sands Developments in Northern Alberta currently working on the $6 Billion + Albian Oil Sands development.

In addition to his work commitments and his volunteer position with The Townships Project, Brian is involved in several volunteer activities with St. Thomas United Church and has been the Treasurer and Secretary of Calgary Blizzard Soccer Club and the community coordinator and board member of the Silver Springs Community Foundation and coached soccer for 17 years.
