Avril Cole is a lawyer in Macleod Dixon LLP's private capital and mining groups. Her practice encompasses private company mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, shareholder arrangements, multi-tiered cross-border finacings, structuring private equity and venture capital funds and general corporate and commercial matters.

Ms. Cole also advises mining corporations with assets in Africa. She has addressed various industry groups on investing in the mining sector in Africa and advises a West African government on mining related issues.

Ms. Cole also writes a legal column for The African Business Journal and is a member of Women in Capital Markets and Women in Mining. Ms. Cole is also on the board of the Canada-Southern Africa Chamber of Commerce, an organization that promotes and develops business linkages between Southern Africa and Canada. Ms. Cole is called to the bar in Ontario, Canada and the State of New York.
